Read moreWhat an electric VinFast needs, and what it does not
Owning an EV changes the maintenance list. There is no oil to change, no spark plugs, no exhaust and no transmission fluid, and regenerative braking makes brake pads last longer. What remains is mostly tires, filters, fluids for the cooling and brake systems, the 12-volt battery and software. Those still need attention on the schedule VinFast publishes for your model.
Tires
A VinFast is heavy and delivers instant torque, so rotation and correct pressure matter more than on a gas car. Uneven wear shows up directly in your range.
Coolant and thermal system
The high-voltage battery lives inside a safe temperature range because of its cooling system. Coolant level and condition are checked at every scheduled visit.
Brake fluid and inspection
Pads last longer, but brake fluid ages with time and lightly used brakes can rust or stick. Inspection keeps the hard stop available.
Software
Charging, range estimation and driver assistance are software. Some updates need a technician; recalls and campaigns are handled here at no charge when VinFast covers them.
No oil changes
There is no engine oil, oil filter or spark plugs.
No exhaust or emissions work
No catalytic converter, muffler or smog-related service.
No transmission service
A single-speed reduction gear replaces the multi-speed transmission and its fluid changes.
